The Super Tuesday jackpot takes place each January in conjunction with the Odessa PRCA rodeo which means it serves as a great place to set the tone for the year for a lot of ropers. This RFD TV American qualifier roping also garners quite a bit of attention from many past NFR qualifiers and up and comers averaging 120 teams in total.

When it comes to the Super Tuesday jackpot roping there are a few things that really make it stand out:

  • Great payout
  • One of the bigger open roping jackpots you may not have know about
  • It has a unique set up
  • It’s one of the first bigger ropings that kicks of the season
  • By far some of the best roping footage and slow motion shots you will see anywhere

One of the most unique things about this roping is where it’s held. The Ector County Coliseum is a multipurpose coliseum, but it’s main purpose is housing the Odessa Jackelopes hockey team. Doubling as a hockey rink makes the venue a small playing field for the ropers. The score is a little longer than most ropings due to the amount of teams they get, adding a bit of an extra challenge.

While the competition was tough this year, the challenging score and the strong steers made roping for consistency the most important factor for ropers to keep in mind throughout each round.

Kaleb Driggers and Cory Petska walked away with the first place position, roping five head in  29.97 seconds, followed by Dustin Egusquiza and Travis Graves with 30.78 on five. The rest of the leader board consisted of familiar faces with Brenten Hall and Tyler Worley in third place, Clay Tryan and Jade Corkill in fourth place, and Luke Brown and Junior Nogueira in fifth place.

The top five teams give you just a glimpse into the caliber of roping this is, and while we recommend catching the action in person (or being part of the action altogether), we’ve captured it pretty perfectly. In fact, we’re willing to say the best part of the Super Tuesday jackpot roping is that you can watch it from anywhere, on your own time at xfactorroping.com. The entire thing. All four rounds of the Super Tuesday jackpot + the short round. We aren’t trying to brag or anything, but these are just about the best angles you could ask for - not to mention the slow motion runs… you’re going to want to catch this one. Watch it all here.
